                  "Workplace Essentials"
                Training Now Available

Is low workplace literacy hurting your business?

Literacy in the workplace is a more complex issue today, than ever before. Businesses understand that to compete in a global economy the skills of their employees must be continually sharpened and upgraded. Unfortunately, businesses are finding that many of their employees lack the basic literacy skill sets necessary to participate in expanded worker training programs and activities. Did you know studies confirm that improved levels of workplace literacy help improve employee productivity, reduces employee turnover, reduces workplace injuries, reduces employee absenteeism and improves employee job satisfaction?

Help is now available!

Due to a new grant opportunity, made available from the  New York State Education Department, assistance is now available to help improve the skills and efficiency of your  workforce. Under the direction of the "Workplace Essentials Connection" (a  partnership of local school districts, BOCES organizations and the local Workforce Investment Board), certified professionals will assess your employees individually and develop an action plan to raise their individual proficiency levels. This may include specialized curriculum, workshops and individualized/small group instruction. Some of the programs that may be offered  include:

     Reading Comprehension
     Basic Math,
     Technical Math
     Basic PC Skills
     Technical Writing
     English as a Second Language
     High School Equivalency (GED)
     Job Retention Skills.

Proven Track Record!

The "Workplace Essentials Connection" has successfully worked with some of Western New York's leading companies, both large and small. Connection partners are located throughout Erie County, making it convenient for your employees to receive training on-site or at one of our facilities.
